Who we are
Pure tea, kept whole and told properly.
Goodluck Tea House began with a small complaint. Most tea sold in India tells you nothing. A pretty box, a vague word like premium, and inside it a leaf broken so fine you cannot tell what it once was.
We do the opposite. We buy whole leaf, whole flower and whole root from growers we can name, pack it small so it stays alive, and tell you exactly where it came from and how it wants to be brewed. Nothing is flavoured. Nothing is bulked out.
Pure means pureOne tea in the pack. No oils, no essences, no colour, no rice husk to add weight.
Small packs on purposeTea fades. We pack 25g to 100g so you finish it while it is still worth drinking.
A story you can tasteEvery pack carries its origin, its season and the ritual it belongs to. Read it, then drink it.

The river floods the Assam plain every year and leaves the soil richer than it found it. The tea grown there tastes like that generosity. Thick, dark, malty enough to hold milk without flinching. This is the cup that gets the kettle whistling before anyone in the house has spoken.
1 tsp per cup, 100ml water at a rolling boil, 4 minutes. Takes milk and sugar well.
Light, high grown, with a whisper of muscatel. Best sipped slow.

Grown above five thousand feet, where cloud sits on the bush until mid morning and the leaf has no choice but to grow slowly. Slow growth is the whole secret. Pale gold in the cup, muscatel on the finish, nothing to hide behind. Drink it black, and preferably alone.
1 tsp per cup, 150ml water at 85°C, 3 minutes. Never with milk.
Petals and leaves. Pretty in the cup, better in the pause it gives.

Rose, marigold, blue pea and green leaf, blended for the way it opens in hot water. The colour moves while you watch it. This is the one we send when somebody starts something new, and the one people photograph before they remember to drink it.
1 tsp per cup, 150ml water at 80°C, 3 minutes. A drop of lime turns it pink.
Holy basil, brewed the way grandmothers always have.

Every courtyard had a tulsi plant, and every household had a reason to reach for it. A sore throat, a long day, or nothing in particular. We dry the leaf whole and then leave it alone. Sharp, clean, faintly peppery. No caffeine, so the hour never matters.
1 tsp per cup, 200ml water at a rolling boil, 5 minutes. Honey optional.
For closing the day the way it opened: slow and unhurried.

Whole chamomile flowers, not the dust that usually passes for them, with a little lemongrass for lift. Honey coloured, apple sweet, and it asks nothing of you. Keep the tin by the bed and leave the phone in the other room.
1 tbsp of flowers, 200ml water at 95°C, 5 minutes.
The tea from the story you know. Strong, sweet, always on the stove.

Every family has a chai, and every chai has a rule nobody ever wrote down. This is the leaf for that pot. Small grain, fast colour, strong enough to carry ginger, cardamom, milk and a full rolling boil. Make it your way. It will keep up.
2 tsp per cup, boiled with milk and water. Ginger optional, though expected.

The ritual
Four things, in this order.
Good leaf survives most mistakes, but it rewards a little attention. Here is the whole method.
One
Measure the leaf
One level teaspoon for a cup. Flowers are lighter, so use a heaped spoon for chamomile and the flower blend.
Two
Mind the water
Black tea and tulsi take a full boil. Darjeeling and the flowers scorch above 85°C, so let the kettle rest a minute first.
Three
Cover and wait
Lid on, three to five minutes, no stirring. Covering keeps the aroma in the pot instead of losing it to the kitchen.
Four
Strain and sit down
Take the leaf out or it turns bitter. Then stop moving for five minutes. That part is not optional.
